Notifications

You are notified when maintenance is due or other actions are required onboard such as checklists, certificates expiring or tasks. Notifications are sent by email to your selected contacts. The system has three categories of contact: Primary, Secondary & Shore Contact, you can have up to 3 different email addresses set for any one of these.

Contacts

The Primary contact

The Primary contact is your nominated person taking responsibility for receiving notifications and ensuring the correct action is taken. On some vessels the Primary contact is the Captain or Engineer. You can nominate up to 3 people so other people can be kept informed.

The Secondary contact

When the Primary contact fails to acknowledge a notification within the allowable amount of time, the Secondary contact is sent a notification. The Secondary contact is usually the Owner or a Vessel Manager. You can nominate up to 3 people so other people can be kept informed.

The Shore contact

The Shore contact relates to the defect-reporting module and receives email notifications when defect reports are opened or updated. You can nominate up to 3 people so other people can be kept informed.

Overdue notifications

If your boat was supplied by the manufacturer with a Marine Cloud system, any Notifications that are not acknowledged within the allowable amount of time will be automatically escalated to the manufacturer. This normally only applies to high-risk items requiring services and maintenance at strict intervals.

Viewing notifications

Via the dashboard

The dashboard shows a short list of the latest notifications generated by the system.

Via the notifications tab

By clicking the Notifications tab you can then choose to view all of the vessels notifications in a list format or in a calendar format.

Via a part dashboard

By clicking the Parts tab, click All Parts and then clicking on the part you are interested in.
You will be taken to a dashboard for that part showing only the notifications for that part.
View more information about a notification
On any screen, to view more information about a notification just click the small ‘i’ this will open a window with further details and allow you to attach documentation.

Acknowledging notifications

Via the calendar

When viewing notifications in the calendar, just click on the notification, select the notifications from the list by clicking the check boxes and then click the blue acknowledge notification button.

Via the parts page & Notifications list

Click the check box next to your chosen notification (a small tick will appear) and then click the blue ‘acknowledge ticked’ button at the bottom of the page.

Attach a document to a notification

Notifications can have documents attached to them such as a scan or photo of service records or photos taken from your mobile device or tablet, documents can be attached to notifications via:

Via the dashboard

Click on the small black document sign to the left of the notification tick box. Select ‘choose file’ when you have selected your file you need to complete the process by clicking the tick box (a small tick will appear) and then clicking the blue ‘acknowledge ticked’ button at the bottom of the page.

Via the notifications list

Click on the small black document sign to the left of the notification tick box. Select ‘choose file’ when you have selected your file you need to complete the process by clicking the tick box (a small tick will appear) and then clicking the blue ‘acknowledge ticked’ button at the bottom of the page.

Via the calendar

Via a part dashboard

When viewing the dashboard for a part, its notifications are listed at the top of the page. Just as above documents can be attached by clicking the black documents icon or the ‘i’ icon

Add notes & comments to a notification

When a task is complete and you are ready to acknowledge the Notification, you can add supporting notes and comments with any important information.

Via the dashboard

Click on the small black document sign to the left of the notification tick box.  You can add notes in the text box and then complete the process by clicking the tick box (a small tick will appear) and then clicking the blue ‘acknowledge ticked’ button at the bottom of the page.

Via the notifications list
